It is absolutely great to be back in Gocek after 3 weeks in the UK. Although it is always lovely to go back and see friends and family I do feel lonely there compared with the warmth of the people here, no matter what nationality.
We had a good flight back, in spite of a number of screaming babies on the plane. We were very impressed at Bristol Airport to find auto bag drop scales (although I understand they have been around for a while). To avoid the queues and weigh your own bags does save a lot of time.
The town has changed quite a bit since we went away. Lots of people wandering the streets, English and American accents and a general lively bustle. There are three….yes three….new dress shops open and I am delighted to see that Gourmet Garage has opened its door again.
A couple of years ago I gave a link to an article about a Goat Farm outside Fethiye. I now see that they have their own website (CLICK HERE) which is definitely on our to do list for this summer.
Sadly, the Dice Bar has definitely gone and the rumours continue about its future as part of the harbourmaster’s office. We shall miss sitting there.
We are off to our favourite Hotel Canada at Cirali tomorrow for a short break. It has been a bit of a rush with only four days in between our travels but it just means I have to leave the housework until I get back. For those of you who know me, you will realize this is not a problem!
