Goodness, the town is starting to look pretty good now.   Not only is the main street paved but wooden planters have appeared with flowers and shrubs.   There are also wooden seats in a couple of places.

The beachwear shop previously weirdly called Shakespeare in Love is now No Gossip – just as odd really.   Gocek used to be a shopping centre full of supermarkets – now handbag shops are vying for supremacy – I have lost count.

We had a very pleasant short break this week at lovely Hotel Canada in Cirali, near Antalya.   This must be our seventh or eighth visit to this relaxing hotel and once again, it didn’t disappoint.   The gardens are looking lovely and as always we were so well looked after.

There are certainly quite a lot of visitors in town at the moment so long may it last.

Ramadan starts at the end of next week so we can look forward to early morning drumming and people eating at the crack of dawn before the day’s fasting.   Still, at least it’s not the height of summer, which will make things a lot easier.
