I can’t believe we have been back in the UK for almost a week already. We had a pretty good journey back. Dalaman Airport was absolutely packed – considering we are being told that the tourism numbers are down, there were hundreds of British passengers milling around. The queue to get into Departures snaked right around the outside of the terminal building and the security x-ray just before Passport Control was appalling. As usual, there were only a few Passport Control booths open so we had to queue for the x-ray machine until there was room to queue for the booths! Once we were through, however, we managed to find somewhere to sit and the plane was on time, thank goodness.
The weather has been extraordinary for the last few days. It was 29 degrees the first day and a steady 26 for the rest of the week – amazing!
I found an article in Fethiye Times giving some useful information about the current situation in Turkey (CLICK HERE) If you are planning to visit in the near future, you might find it useful.
On a lighter note, I enjoyed this article in Hurriyet Daily News about the decrease in the skill of making oil wrestlers’ leather pants (CLICK HERE). I never realized it was so complex!
We have another busy week here in the UK but I am already counting the days till we come back to our lovely adopted country – can’t wait.
