24th June 2018

So election day has arrived here in Turkey.   There haven’t been as many noisy election loudspeaker vans as in previous years.   We are just waiting to see if we can get alcohol at lunch at the Limon today;  usually there is a ban on selling alcohol on election day!

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I had been out for a day trip on a great boat called Beyaz.   A group of us had another lovely day out on the same boat on Friday.  There were 11 of us which was probably the maximum number the boat can take, but once again we had a fantastic meal and a lovely relaxing time looking at all the amazing boats which are moored out in the bays.

Over the years we have visited the FIG charity shop in Fethiye both to donate items and to buy clothes, books etc.  It is sad therefore to read this article in Fethiye Times stating that the activities of this group have been suspended (CLICK HERE) Lets hope it all get sorted soon.

We have visited an awful lot of archaeological sites during our time in Turkey but have never visited Sagalassos.   This article in Hurriyet Daily News has certainly whetted my appetite to visit (CLICK HERE)   It’s going to the head of the list for 2018!

The weather forecast looks good for the coming week – around 30+ - although I understand the weather in the UK is pretty good too.   Enjoy wherever you are.
