25th December 2016
Well it’s not often I get to write on Christmas Day! It’s a lovely clear day here in Wellington and the forecast is 12 degrees – pretty good.
We have had an interesting week spending a few days with friends in Cornwall. I have to say that the grey Atlantic can’t compete with the wonderful blue Mediterranean, but the scenery is spectacular. I always think of the scenery around Gocek as dramatic but some of the Cornish coves are even more spectacular.
Over the last few years I have been intrigued to see how what we know as Christmas decorations have been adopted in Turkey as decorations for the New Year. This Fethiye Times article (CLICK HERE) confirms my theory.
It looks as if those of us interested in archaeology will have a treat next year. This article (CLICK HERE) gives some information on the New Archaeological Museum in Adana which opens in 2017. We haven’t been to Adana, maybe next year will be the time!
A very merry Christmas to you all – have a great day.
