27th November 2016

Another lovely week weatherwise.   Whilst the sun is up it is surprisingly hot, still around 22 degrees, although it’s down to about 7 at night.   We are still eating our evening meal on the balcony watching amazing sunsets.

It’s strange that we haven’t had any weddings in the market place so far this autumn.   Usually in November we have music and dancing most Saturday nights.   Maybe as the weather has been so good, people are still holding parties in the amphitheatre – I am sure people are still getting married!

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that four shops opposite the Turkcell shop are being demolished, apparently to make room for another hotel.  Well, the buildings are now gutted so something is happening.

The town is very quiet now.   A lot of shops have closed and as usual, at this time of year, Gocek feels more like a Turkish town again.   There are a few boats moored on the quay, but things are very peaceful now

I enjoyed this article in Fethiye Times showing how quiet Olu Deniz is at this time of year. (CLICK HERE) This is such a busy resort in the summer months, it’s interesting to see the difference.

We have been visiting the bowling alley quite a lot recently and are sorry to hear that it is closing at the end of November until the beginning of March.  We shall really miss this bit of exercise but sadly whilst the town is so quiet, there aren’t enough customers to make it worthwhile opening.

Next week this article will once again be Life in Wellington.   We are going back to the UK for Christmas – I’m not looking forward to the change in weather.
