29th May 2016

The temperatures are now in the high twenties and the forecast is good for next week – it’s looking great.

There are a few visitors in town but the general feeling is still of considerable worry about the lack of tourism forecast for this summer.

Some of you may already have seen reports of the broadcast made this week on BBC by the Mayor of Fethiye (CLICK HERE). He made some very valid points.

The new Macrocenter supermarket in town seems to be getting some very good reports and is being referred to as ‘the Waitrose of Gocek’.   I bought some excellent asparagus there this week and reports of the quality of the meat are encouraging.

I have just been looking at the concerts taking place in Antalya this summer as part of Expo 2016.   They are certainly getting some big names – Sting, Elton John, Cirque du Soleil to mention a few.   Our favourite Hotel Canada in Cirali is offering transport from the hotel to the venue – have a look - CLICK HERE for more details.
